About this event

NJACCHO is sponsoring a series of six four-hour tabletop exercises made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Department of Health. These exercises will focus on response actions related to a chemical incident. Each exercise will follow the same scenario. Participants are invited to attend a session convenient for them. The purpose of these exercises is to promote multi-agency coordination, test emergency response plans, and strengthen preparedness across the state

Exercise Objectives
1. Assess the jurisdictional response to a chemical incident, to include cross-jurisdictional resource and information sharing.
2. Discuss strategies in detection and surveillance in response to a chemical incident.
3. Evaluate the ability to develop, coordinate, and disseminate uniformed risk communication messaging.
4. Discuss community recovery operations to include decontamination and re-inspection of food providers.

Additional Information
-Approved for 3.75 Public Health continuing education credits.
-This exercise has been designed to comply with the requirements of the CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP)/NJDOH Chemical Incident (CHEM) tabletop exercise.
-Coffee and bagels will be provided.
