The New Jersey Department of Health Vaccine Preventable Disease Program will host a live
webinar on May 14, 2024, to provide a thorough review of New Jersey‘s immunization
requirements for child care, preschool, and school (K-12) attendance. The webinar will take
place from 2-4 p.m. and will include frequently asked questions regarding exemptions,
provisional admission, grace periods, and assessing immunization compliance for school
attendance. Resources and tips for communicating about the importance of immunizations will
be shared.
Continuing education will not be offered, but participants will receive a certificate of
completion.

The New Jersey Department of Health, Vaccine Preventable Disease Program, and Rutgers School of Public Health are pleased to present the 2024 New Jersey Immunization Conference "Beyond Barriers: Charting the Course for Immunization in a Changing Landscape." This year‘s conference aims to raise awareness about the significance of timely immunization for adolescents, teens, and adults. Expert leaders will discuss immunization best practices and provide vaccine updates, connecting immigrant and migrant communities to vaccine resources, provide crucial updates on the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program and compliance regulations, and examine the impact of AI on public health. Fee $55

Recent infectious disease outbreaks like COVID-19 and RSV have demonstrated the need for public health professionals to be able to develop clear and concise health messages to a number of wide-range audiences. Often times, these messages are delivered through the media - which is ever changing and demanding more out of our health agencies.
These full day (9:00am - 3:00pm), comprehensive and highly interactive trainings will cover risk communication principals and strategies, along with two mock on camera interviews and critiques for ALL participants.
This training is appropriate for any public health professionals who are likely to interact or provide information to the media or other community stakeholders during an emergency.
